rst private laboratory in the southern part of India, providing 'Personnel Radiation Monitoring services' for all the personnel associated with the radiation environment of Industrial and Medical fields. Avanttec laboratory, carries out more than 5000 TLD-PMS tests every month.
As you are aware, Personnel monitoring of all individuals working in the radiation area is mandatory by AERB regulation (Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, Govt. of India). Every individual, working in the radiation environment, such as Doctors, Radiographers, Nurses, Operation Theatre Assistants and Industrial X-Ray Technicians etc. should register themselves with BARC and enrol into personnel monitoring services to monitor the radiation dose received by them.

Avanttec signed up a Technology Transfer Agreement with BARC(Bhabha Atomic Research Centre) to manufacture Thermo Luminescence Dosimeter(TLD) Phosphor and TLD Badges.
Among Thermo Luminescence Phosphors, Dysprosium Dopes Calcium Sulphate (CaSO 4 Dy) Phosphor, is one of the most efficient Phosphors, for use in Radiation Dosimetry. I.e., for monitoring the Radiation (Gamma or X-Ray) dose received by the personnel working with Radiation. Briefly, the process consists in dissolving requisite amounts of both high purity Sulphate and Dysprosium Oxide (Dy 2 O 3 ) in concentrated Sulphuric Acid (H 2 SO 4 ) and then crystallizing out the product by distilling H 2 SO 4 under reduced pressure. The crystallized product is annealed at a desired temperature or quenched to achieve sensitivity of the Phosphor powder. This Phosphor powder is the raw material of making TLD Badges.
This sophisticated Lab was set-up as per BARC guidelines. Now, the Annual production capacity of Avanttec Laboratories is 12,000 gms of high grade TLD Phosphor. Avanttec can offer TLD Phosphors & TLD Cards to any External Laboratories too on requirement basis.
